Perth Festival of the Arts’ Artists of the Year concert returns in 2023, featuring outstanding Scottish musicians who benefited from Cross Trust support early in their careers. Four exceptional musicians present a rich programme of musical classics, including works by Albéniz, Rameau, Shostakovish, Janáček and traditional Scottish music.
Ryan Corbett is a classical accordionist, described by The Scotsman as 'one of Scotland’s most exciting young musicians'. An accomplished soloist, Ryan will be performing with BBC orchestras through its New Generation Artist Scheme
Cellist Finn Mannion was the youngest winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s prestigious ‘Julius Isserlis’ scholarship in 2019. Alongside his undergraduate studies in Basel, Finn is an active chamber musician.
Violinist Bríona Mannion graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where she was Concertmaster of the Opera Orchestra and Co-lead of the Symphony Orchestra. Bríona has performed as a chamber musician in major venues around the UK.
Scottish-Dutch pianist Anna Michels is a scholar on the Artist Diploma at the Royal Conservatoire Scotland, an avid chamber musician, lecture-recitalist, and teacher. Anna will perform as a soloist with RCS Symphony Orchestra in 2023.
The Cross Trust, founded by Sir Alexander Cross, supports young people in their studies in all arts and science disciplines.
