Join award-winning poet and spoken-word artist Jo Gilbert and the National Library of Scotland’s Scots Scriever, Shane Strachan, as they each perform a “best of” selection of their work in contemporary Doric before sitting down with linguist Dr Dawn Leslie of the University of Aberdeen to discuss what it means to write in the North East dialect of Scots and its connection to place and people today.

The event combines two entertaining stand-up poetry performances from two leading, Aberdeenshire-based poets who will have the audience giggling and laughing alongside a stimulating and insightful panel discussion about the Doric language, writing, and life as a Doric speaker/writer.
