Originally from Perth and now based in London, multi-award-winning Helena Kay is a greatly in-demand tenor saxophonist and composer. Following their 2018 debut Moon Palace, their trio with Calum Gourlay on bass and David Ingamells on drums have just released their new album, Golden Sands along with new member Peter Johnstone on piano.

Made up entirely of original compositions, it's a musical reflection inspired by their formative years on New York and London’s vibrant jazz scenes which brings together the lush harmony and contemporary grooves of British jazz with the attitude, grit and tradition of the American sound.

'Golden Sands is a stunning example of how important locations and influences can generate beautiful and comforting music....highlights the ensemble’s chemistry beautifully, through exciting melodies and captivating musicality.' Jazz In Europe

'Moon Palace leaves the listener wanting more of Kay’s rich playing… it’s remarkably self-assured and forecasts an imaginative career to come.' Downbeat

'sublime music that stirs the senses and emotions' The Herald
