Are you a fan of Scots poetry, old and new? We have the event for you! Join us at AK Bell Library this April for amazing music, laughter, entertainment, and some history and knowledge thrown into the mix!

William Soutar was a poet, not a musician, yet he entitled some of his works as ‘ballads’. More recently, several of his poems have been set to music to help widen the appreciation of his work. PlaidSong will outline the background to this tradition, feature poets whose poems have been set to music, and explore the boundary, if any, between songs and poems by performing a number of these songs. The Scots poets who we will feature include Grizel Baillie (17th/18th century), Lady Nairne (18th/19th century), Robert Burns (18th century), James Hogg

Suitable for children, all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
