Join associate Director of Perth Theatre, Patrick Sandford, for a practical workshop linked to his one person show Groomed to explore pushing your creative boundaries to create the stories and characters you want in a safe inspirational space. The workshop will allow you to work both alone and in groups. Patrick Sandford began his career as a Trainee Director, later Associate Director at Perth Theatre, under Joan Knight. He directed at The Royal Lyceum in Edinburgh, The Tron Theatre in Glasgow, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, and he was Artistic Director for a short season of plays at the Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh. Since then he has been Artistic Director of three major UK Regional Theatres including in the 1980s the Lyric Theatre, Belfast (the major producing theatre in the city) where he produced and directed several potentially controversial plays about the political ‘troubles’. For over 20 years, Director of the Nuffield Theatre Southampton, Patrick won the UK Theatre Managers’ Association Award for Best Director. He has been nominated for several other awards.
