Each year, hundreds of amateur theatre groups present one-act plays in local and regional festivals to win through to their national finals. The British Final is the climax of the theatre year when the four winning teams, from Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland compete for the accolade of the best in Britain. This year, Scottish Community Drama hosts the 89th annual festival in Perth Theatre with the four teams competing over two nights to win the coveted Howard de Walden trophy.
