Tim Beattie, guitar

Tim Beattie is emerging as one of the important Canadian guitarists of his generation. He has performed at venues across North America and Europe, lauded for his colouristic performances and fresh readings of repertory across the epochs.

A prize-winner in competitions in Antwerp, Brussels, Finland, Germany and North America he is now finishing his studies in Glasgow. His programme has a Spanish framework with the haunting melodies of Albeniz and the sparkling charm of Rodrigo. In between there is music by 18th century French army officer de Fossa and by two major English composers.
