Steven Stewart is a former journalist and has around 30 years’ experience in media and communications both in the public and private sectors. He is the Founding Director of his own consultancy, Kinnoull Communications, which specialises in helping small and medium-sized businesses and organisations.
Previously, he was Director of Communications with Stagecoach Group, a leading public transport company in the UK, where his role included media relations, political and stakeholder management and investor communications. He also worked with the Group's business units to deliver a programme of marketing PR activity and ensure the integration of internal and external communications.
Steven was closely involved in the development of the company’s sustainability strategy and was a member of the strategic communications group for the UK bus and coach industry. He is also a former non-executive Board member of Transform Scotland, the national alliance for sustainable transport, and was previously a policy adviser to the Campaign for Better Transport.
Passionate about his home city of Perth and young people, Steven is Vice Chair of the private-sector led Perth City Leadership Forum, a Director of Perthshire Chamber of Commerce, and a Perth Ambassador.
Steven is a member of the Developing the Young Workforce Tay Cities regional board, part of a network of groups helping deliver a key strand of the Scottish Government's employability strategy, and was previously Chair of the initiative in Perth & Kinross. He has been a mentor for several years and is Vice-Chair of the Perth and Kinross advisory board for the Career Ready programme, which helps prepare students aged 16-19 for the world of work.
