Perth Theatre and Concert Hall Launches Giving Tuesday Campaign for Inclusive Dance

Perth Theatre and Concert Hall is inviting the public to support its commitment to talent and inclusion through its Giving Tuesday campaign.

On Tuesday 2 December, the venue aims to raise £3,686 for “Let’s Dance”, a free dance programme for young people and adults across Perth and Kinross with additional support needs.  

Organised in partnership with Friends Unlimited Network, Let’s Dance offers weekly creative movement and choreography workshops, designed to foster community, joy, and self-expression for participants and their carers. With the funds raised, the programme will be able to add a much-needed second weekly session in 2026, allowing even more people to benefit from the freedom and connection that dance brings.

Research shows that inclusive dance programmes like Let’s Dance not only improve physical health and confidence, but also foster social connection and reduce isolation for people with additional support needs. According to One Dance UK, participation in dance is linked to better wellbeing, communication, and a stronger sense of belonging. 

A recent participant’s carer said: 

“She enjoys it, she looks forward all week to dance night. When she knows it’s on that night she says ‘Yesss!’ It’s a really important part of her routine.” 

Giving Tuesday is the world’s largest day of generosity, inspiring millions of people in over 70 countries to support good causes. Founded in 2012, the movement encourages individuals, businesses, and organisations to give back—whether through donations, volunteering, or acts of kindness. In the UK, thousands of charities and community groups take part each year, harnessing the power of collective action to make a difference.
