Shona MacLean’s two series of award-winning books set in the 17th century have established her as one of the UK’s leading historical novelists. Her latest novel, The Bookseller of Inverness, brings to life Scotland after Culloden – with all the dangers and deceits that came with it.
Sally Magnusson is a highly respected writer of fiction and non-fiction. Her new book, Music in the Dark, highlights a particular incident during the Highland Clearances and considers the lasting effect of that time.
Douglas Skelton says of himself: ‘I am a crime writer who specialises in fiction and non-fiction from the darker side of our world.’ His latest book, An Honourable Thief, set in 1715, is an ‘atmospheric and utterly compelling blend of crime, history and thriller’.
Winner of the Christine Findlay Prize will be announced by Sally Magnusson.
