We are living in a highly technological age driven by phones, data, AI, internet. Theatre lives in the world of live and present moment, human connection. This session looks at how we can make live immersive theatre combined with technology & the data around us whilst also protecting ourselves as creatives and humans.
Dr Clare Duffy is the artistic director of Civic Digits, Civic Digits mission is to create a digital future where everyone can flourish. They are passionate that no one gets left behind in the digital world we now live in and make technology and performance to tell stories about technology that empowers.
Civic Digits created The Big Data Show a digitally interactive live and hybrid performance about privacy, hacking and the value of data which toured.
Clare also created Many Good Men in February 2024 at Hearts Football Club after co- writing it with two groups of young people in Edinburgh. Many Good Men is a piece of digital forum theatre addressing the radicalisation of masculinity, incel culture, and the manosphere.
