Stuart McGugan presents
Aesop, Coco and Me
Fables by Aesop, and other stories
Translated by Robert Stephen
Music by Mitch McGugan
Directed by Cordelia Monsey
Join veteran Scottish actor Stuart McGugan for a celebration of storytelling.
From Aesop, a Greek slave who told his fables two and a half thousand years ago, through Coco, real name Robert Stephen, the son of a fisherman from Peterhead who reworked the fables into his native Doric, Stuart McGugan, who himself told over 150 stories while a presenter on
Playschool, explores the roots of storytelling.
A talented storyteller who has captivated audiences with his performances in beloved shows such as
Tutti Frutti, Hamish Macbeth, Benidorm and
Playschool, Stuart brings a wealth of experience from both theatre and television to the show.
Expect stories about dancing with penguins, the tortoise and the hare, replacing plug leads with liquorice, rescuing drowning bricks, and rock and roll drumming – as well as anecdotes about Stuart’s life on stage and screen.
Featuring live fiddle music from Stuart's son Mitch, this inspiring evening is filled with laughter, reflection, and the enduring magic of storytelling.
